After the third time in 30 seconds that someone banged into Shelley at the Organic Market, she muttered "I hate this place." A woman in line, who was standing in the line we were trying to get into, said "Oh! Don't say that!" She was beaming.
She obviously loved that market the way that Shelley and I love the Landsdowne market.
Shelley and I do not love the Bank Street Market. It was poorly laid out, and if there were prices for stuff they were generally in tiny print posted far away. People were banging into us all over the place. I don't know why about that, what fills people with so much hurry and bother that they can't fucking make way for you to get down the hall. I bought a crazy expensive tiny bag of spinach, and some crazy expensive chicken sausages that have sugar in them.
We won't be in a hurry to go back.
Other than that, it's been a lovely day. We went for brunch after marketing, then to the craft sale at McNabb to buy some soap and pottery. Then home for a couple of hours, and then I went down to visit with the KGRF.
I can now say that I have seen my house from the third floor of the Humphrey Plaza, Home to Dr. Dentist.
When I left the KGRF, the girls were busy making soup. Here's Fiona's recipe:
- 1 orange peel
- 6 oz water
- 8 oz water
- 1 c flour, added by teaspoons
- 3 tsp yeast
- 5 tsp sugar
- 8 tsp salt
- 1 c flour, added by teaspoons
- 6 oz water
- 4 tsp parsely flakes
NO:
- tea bags with tags on them
- other kind of tea bags
- orange pepper seeds
She stirred and stirred. "Siddolve!" she said. "Siddolve! I'm stirring!"
"Dissolve, sweetie," Grace said. "You stir to dissolve the flour in the water."
I'm rushing this off now, because Michael will be here momentarily. We're off for raging, apparently - "This ain't no pot of tea night," he informed me.
Indeed.
