Because tonight is a night where my tank is feeling pretty empty, I give you a true web log post.

"Clitoris" on Google's Banned Word List
Doesn't surprise me. Does make me roll my eyes. Why is clitoris still a dirty word? Fucking christ.

Sex, Relationships, and the Hazards of Default Decisions
Christina's blog is sometimes pretty annoying - her stuff about atheism drives me bonkers, like, okay, we get it, shut up already bonkers - but often is superbly great. This piece, about consciously deciding what your relationship will look like, and Fuck People, is smart and insightful and man, it's just nice to read someone else saying the words I think in my head.

4 comments postedI work for a department of the federal government, and I still sometimes see pages banned because they are "Occult" in nature.
On an unrelated note, do you really get so much spam that this whole CAPCHA system is required?
I get about 20,000 spam comments a year and have never had the need for anything so obtrusive.
I think she answered her own question (or at least found the reason for her observation) with her own edit. It seems relationships are on a time line because of the biological clock. Not that willpower can't overcome that (after all some consciously chose not to have kids) but it is the one commonality amongst the majority of couples (where at least one is female)...
I'd also add that we of course don't ask ourselves or our partners those deal breaking questions, at least not right away so we just kinda go with flow... cause we are afraid of the answers...
Thanks for the "Sex, Relationships, and the Hazards of Default Decisions" link, that was a nice read. Last night I got AGAINST LOVE by Laura Kipnis, which Fiona said you've read.
