Taking the Canal

A busy day, a long day, a day full of planning.

Between work work and the workshop at venus envy, I went for a skate.

It's something I've started doing once or twice a week, though generally I take my skates to work, walk to the canal at Lisgar, skate to Dow's Lake and walk home. The long way home, certainly, but it's nice to take advantage of the canal that isright there, and it's yet another way for me to up my intake of fresh air and endorphins.

Since ve is two blocks from my work, I decided to skate for an hour. A half hour each way, out and back. About 40 minutes in, I realized that skating for an hour is a long fucking skate.

Especially if the longest you've skated in the past decade is about 25 minutes.

So I skated from Lisgar to the mouth of Dow's, then back again to Patterson, where I sat on the bench and rubbed my cold toes fiercely.
