It's been a crazy week of people. I just tried to make the list, and since half of it isn't in my daytimer, I'm fucked. There's been a lot of visiting, and it's got my head all pinging, the way it does when you talk to people you don't usually talk to.
I did have a lovely lunch with Mae this afternoon, who helped me have a sincere conversation with my gut. We ate soup and fish at Memories, and the sun shone in her eyes, and we had just a lovely conversation. And then I got to give her a tight squeeze when we said goodbye, and that is always very nice.
After work, I ran my first winter route run, along Wellington and Sparks, the Driveway, through the Golden Triangle, Centretown, then home. I hate to give up my river run, and a good part of me is willing to brave the few dark kilometres to get to where the river would reflect enough light for safety. But then that's probably crazy, to run in the full dark with no streetlamps in the empty grassy scrubby LeBreton Flats. So I don't, I run through the people and the stoplights instead, and try to breathe the city in, to relax my shins as they're tensing against the sidewalks.
Then a quick dinner - and you want a tip? don't put artichoke hearts in scrambled eggs, 'cause while the taste is pretty good, it turns the eggs grey, and you know what is not appealing is grey scrambled eggs - before X came to watch a movie. We half watched and half gossiped over Caves and Deserts.
It's been like that, this week, from one thing to the next, all things I wouldn't want to give up, but I'm looking forward to a couple of weeks from now, to being a little less tight with my time.

You're right, Deserts is the one with the Gobi Desert Camels. And also kangaroos, which are odd creatures that look surprisingly like camels. Which are odd creatures.
