Bad form or not, it's good

Bad form or not, it's good to see you back.

I hated my IUD too. So much so, in fact, that my uterus literally ejected it about three days after it was inserted. My doctor found that hard to believe, but there it was.

The IUD is not for everybody.

Also? I don't think you betrayed your body since you had no way of knowing your body would hate the IUD. Now that you know, though, leaving it in might be a betrayal.

Well thank you Zoom! That is

Well thank you Zoom!

That is very interesting about leaving it in being a betrayal. It really felt more like "too late, your cervix is ruined!" kind of sadness, but maybe not. I need to spend some time thinking about that.

Birth control makes me crazy in general. I've started reacting not-so-great to condoms/lube, hormonal methods creep me out, and I won't use anything that involves jelly or foam. So it was down to 1) half-assed Fertility Awareness Method + (Condoms OR Withdrawal); 2) sterilization; or 3) the IUD.

(1) was already making me pretty damn anxious and (2) well, I just wasn't ready to discuss it. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. Gah.

My IUD experience was

My IUD experience was agonizing too. It ruined my orgasms, usually awesome contractions became painful and stopped me from climaxing, ever.

And the hormones made me feel toxic. It was hard not to feel like some cruel trick had been played on me.

I think it might only work for women whose uterus has been stretched by pregnancy. If then.

Ooof, I feel lucky that I

Ooof, I feel lucky that I can still have orgasms, that's for sure then.

I've heard of a couple of women without kids who loved it, and never had a problem with it, but who knows.

What this whole thing has said to me is that we know fuck all about how the uterus works in conjunction with the rest of our organs and systems.
